What To Know About This Production

Tamworth Musical Society will be transforming the Capitol Theatre stage into a Greek Island paradise. In May 2020 we’ll burst onto stage in a brand-new production of one of the world's favourite feel-good musicals... MAMMA MIA!

Featuring hit after hit from the incredible songs of ABBA including Dancing Queen, Voulez Vous, S.O.S, Take a Chance On Me and The Winner Takes It All, MAMMA MIA! tells the hilarious story of a young woman's search for her birth father. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.

Auditions For MAMMA MIA!

What To Expect At Auditions

To be eligible to audition for the cast of MAMMA MIA! all auditionees must be 16 years of age or older by the start of rehearsals.

ARE YOU READY TO HAVE FUN!

Please prepare an ABBA song of your choice. Please choose a song that shows your voice at its best, and please bring your own sheet music. If you are stuck finding the music then don't panic - contact us and we should be able to assist. We need singers and dancers so if you are a strong dancer but you think your singing might not be as strong - don't worry, just come along and blow us away with your moves. The same can be said if you are a stronger singer!

It is anticipated that the initial audition may take up to 60 minutes for most auditionees, as you will all be auditioned in one hour slots per group and you may be asked to read some script.

All auditionees will be required to participate in a group choreography call on Sunday 17 November from 10am to 12:00pm. Females, please bring both heels and a flat shoe option and wear clothing you can dance in.

REHEARSALS

Rehearsals will commence on Wednesday, 29 January 2020 for all cast.

Rehearsal times will be:

Monday              7:15pm – 10:15pm          Tamworth Community Centre, Darling St, Tamworth

Wednesday       7:15pm – 10:15pm          Tamworth Community Centre, Darling St, Tamworth

*Sunday             2:00pm – 5:00pm            Tamworth Community Centre, Darling St, Tamworth

A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed. Whilst all cast will not be required for all rehearsals, you must be available to attend when scheduled throughout this rehearsal period. This will be clearly set out on the final rehearsal schedule. *Sunday rehearsals won’t be every week.

Please Note:

Once successful in being cast if you miss more than 3 rehearsals during the rehearsal period, your position in the cast will be reconsidered. Please do not take on the show if you are already over-committed.

Please register for the Information Night(if you can attend. It's not compulsory) and the Sunday Dance Call on the Audition Form. Everyone who auditions for the Ensemble must do the Dance Call.
