Elementary Casting Note
Elementary students will be considered for the Jr. Ensemble and for the roles of Young Anna and Young Elsa. In some cases, they may also be considered for Middle Anna and Middle Elsa. Jr. Ensemble will have one song/scene and the curtain call number. Young Anna/Elsa will be in Jr. Ensemble as well. Jr. Ensemble will have a different rehearsal schedule. We are working on it now and will get it to you soon!.

Middle & High School Casting Note
Middle school and high school students will be considered for all lead roles and the main ensemble (separate from the Jr. Ensemble).

Double Casting
In some cases, roles may be double cast. This means two actors will share the same role and alternate performances. For example, one student may perform the role on one night, while the other performs the lead on the next. On the alternate night, each actor will appear in the ensemble. Double casting ensures that every performer is on stage for all shows and that both students gain valuable experience by learning both parts.

Dance Troupe: In this musical, a snow chorus helps create the illusion of Elsa’s magic. We need students with good teamwork skills. We are also looking for two students to be our Dance Captains.
Dance Captains assist with teaching choreography to the cast and take a leadership role with our dance troupe, and will get input on choreography. Please note: you do NOT have to be a top notch singer to be in the dancing troupe but we still need to hear you try in your audition video.

Callbacks will be November 11 and 12. Please make sure you have this on your calendar.

Callbacks Reminder
If you don’t get called back, don’t panic! It doesn’t mean you’re out of the running. It just means we already saw what we needed from you in your first audition.

--Conflicts & Casting Policy--

-On your audition form, please list only conflicts that cannot be adjusted. If a conflict is something you can move or reschedule, do not include it.

-Rehearsals are typically Monday, Tuesday and Friday and none on holidays. There are a few exceptions. Please check out the public rehearsal schedule and only fill in conflicts on the dates we have rehearsal even though the entire calendar is available. You will need to cross reference for accuracy.

-More than two conficts may significantly affect your castability.

-Attendance is a key factor in casting. Students with many conflicts should not expect to be considered for lead roles or major ensemble parts.

-Again, this year voice lessons will be offered for leads on Wednesday and Thursdays. Additionally, the director has a Middle School Club during Big Time for group voice lessons and rehearsals.

--

This year, we are asking all cast members to prioritize rehearsals. Our rehearsal process will follow a sequential order—meaning we will build the show scene by scene, in the order it will be performed. Unlike a traditional model (where music, choreography, and blocking are rehearsed separately), this process requires steady attendance so the production can move forward smoothly without backtracking.

Not every cast member will be called to every rehearsal. The schedule will depend on your role, and casting decisions will reflect this. Once casting is complete, the official rehearsal schedule will be released so you can make further arrangements in your schedules.

Commitment Note

  1. We know you’re busy with clubs, sports, and tutoring. Most of these can be worked around with good communication, but it’s your job to talk to your coach or advisor and make those arrangements.

  2. A show is different from other activities—it needs steady commitment. When someone is missing, the whole cast is affected.

  3. You won’t be called to every rehearsal, and we’ll give you the schedule well in advance. This allows you to prioritize and plan ahead so you can succeed in both theatre and your other activities.

  4. You must also stay on top of your schoolwork. This is why we allow you to quietly do homework on the side during rehearsals when you are not actively rehearsing.

Cast List will be announced on November 14.

First Rehearsal is November 17. All are required to attend. Even Jr. Ensemble.
