About The Studio Kaohsiung American School

At Kaohsiung American School, the Theatre program is a dynamic and thriving part of our creative arts community. Now in its third year of development, the program has quickly grown into a vibrant space for student expression, collaboration, and performance.

From middle school exploratory classes to high school Theatre Arts electives, our curriculum emphasizes creativity, communication, and confidence. Students learn foundational and advanced performance techniques, engage with scripted and devised works, and explore theatre as both an art form and a lens for understanding the world around them.

Each year, our students have multiple opportunities to perform through curricular showcases, interdisciplinary collaborations, and major productions, including an annual school musical. The program also encourages original student work, such as poetry slams and playwriting festivals, and is proudly affiliated with the International Thespian Society, recognizing excellence in theatre arts.

Rooted in global-mindedness and student voice, the KAS Theatre program continues to evolve, offering a supportive and inspiring environment where all students can discover their artistic identity and share their stories.
