Leeton, New South Wales
With its beautiful Art Deco design and authentic interior, Leeton’s Roxy Theatre is one of the oldest of its kind in Australia. Opened in the heyday era of film, the iconic Leeton landmark is steeped in history – and its charm, elegance and ambiance continue to be drawcards today.
The Roxy opened on 7 April 1930 where a full house enjoyed a screening of The Black Watch. Since then, the Roxy has presented a regular program of films, along with an array of live entertainment events. The theatre is also a versatile event space.
In 2020, the Roxy Theatre is set to undergo a significant refurbishment to see it continue to service the Leeton community for many years to come. While maintaining its heritage and historic value, improvements to the theatre’s technical, functional and operational infrastructure will enable the theatre to continue presenting a diverse range of entertainment to the community.
